PE & Sports Premium

Most schools with primary-age pupils, including Montpelier, receive the PE and sport premium in the academic year 2020 to 2021. Schools receive this funding based on the number of pupils in years 1 to 6. The government calculates how many pupils in our school attract the funding using data from the January 2020 school census. In the financial year 2020/21, our school will receive a total of £21,400.

Funding must be used to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport offered. Further information may be found below.

In our year 6 cohort:

  • 69% of pupils can swim competently, confidently, and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres.
  • 86% can use a range of swimming strokes effectively
  • 79% of pupils are able to perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.
