PE & Sports Premium

Most schools with primary-age pupils, including Montpelier, received the PE and sport premium in the academic year 2022 to 2023. Schools receive this funding based on the number of pupils in years 1 to 6. The government calculates how many pupils in our school attract the funding using data from the January school census.

Funding must be used to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport offered. Further information may be found below.

In our Year 6 2022 cohort:

  • 87% of pupils can swim competently, confidently, and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres.
  • 82% can use a range of swimming strokes effectively
  • 77% of pupils are able to perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.
