Possible School Closure Thursday 10th July
Please note that parents and carers should make advance arrangements due to national industrial action by teaching and support staff unions. THE SCHOOL MAY BE CLOSED ON THURSDAY 10TH JULY. WE WILL CONFIRM THIS AS SOON AS WE POSSIBLY CAN.
The National Union of Teachers (NUT) has confirmed they will be calling on members to take strike action on the 10th July 2014. UNISON have announced the result of a ballot which affects local government workers (including those who work in schools) and that shows a majority of those who voted, have voted in favour of strike action. UNISON will now decide next steps. UNISON may join the NUT for a day of strike action on 10th July 2014.
The GMB are in the process of balloting members for strike action and a result is expected in the next few days.
As soon as I have a clear indication about the impact of this action upon the school, you will be informed about whether the school will be partially or fully closed, or remain unaffected.
After a hugely successful sumer fete last week, we have enjoyed a week of sports day events and greeted our year 6 pupils following their return from a residential trip to France.
