Recent Events In School
Our aim is to provide an enriched curriculum across the school as we know this contributes to our children's enjoyment and motivation. Activities are planned carefully to ensure we provide a broad and balanced experience for all.
This term, we have held evening curriculum workshops and meetings for parents and carers of children who will be attending one of our residential trips. Years 5 and 6 have completed their Art Weeks and will be exhibiting their work on THURSDAY 21ST NOVEMBER AT 5.00PM in the upper hall. The children have decided that all proceeds from sales should be donated to the DEC (Disaster Emergency Committee) to support families in the Philipines after the recent tragedy there.
Year 2 visited the Transport Museum in Covent Garden, Year 5 visited Wigmore Hall in connection with a topic on Space, whilst Year 4 recently ran a Rainforest Cafe having also been visited by snakes, tarantulas and lizards! Alongside International Week, a story telling project with "Everyday Magic" (http://www.everydaymagic.org.uk/about-2/) for Year 5, a planned Egyptian Archaeology expedition to the British Museum for Year 3, new sports clubs and extended instument tuition, this has been a terrific term so far.
As winter takes hold, we are fully immersed in a busy term with children enjoying special festivals such as Eid, Diwali and Christmas. Alongside the celebrations, parents have now had the opportunity to meet teachers and discuss targets and learning ambitions for the year ahead.
