Data Protection

The school takes data protection very seriously and next year we will be providing simplified information about how current (and revised regulations) affect school life.

Currently, we require consent for any information about an individual to be shared with somebody else in the school community, such as the PTA. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this regard. The PTA is working with the school to ensure that statutory requirements are fulfilled and that frustrations are ironed out.

As we feel the onset of winter, this is a good time to reflect upon the successes of the past term. A number of staff have settled into school and our new Reception children are confident and enthusiastic. We have enjoyed some exceptional assembly performances, visited various venues on school trips, heard the choir singing and the orchestra playing, and raised our expectations of what we hope to achieve. The charitable work – led by pupils – has been rewarding and PTA events have (and will be tonight) an enjoyable aspect of children’s whole experience at Montpelier. During the term I have been reminded of many things, and two in particular. The compassion that so many in our school community have displayed for different reasons has served as an illustration of all that is still good in a world that can feel fragile from time to time. And our children! Today, I had my coat tugged, arm pulled, hand “high fived,” and my letter to a parent given a detailed critique, by 4 and 5 year olds - all because I dared to venture across the Reception playground at lunchtime. What a great school to be a part of.
