Marathon Running - message from Ms Mackenzie
Mr Walker from Ealing Half Marathon www.ealinghalfmarathon.com/ came to our school last week to talk to us about running in Ealing. Three of the teachers from our school are running in Ealing Half Marathon (Miss Comiskey, Miss Mackenzie and Mr Pagaduan). Some children from Montpelier school are also running the mini mile on the day. Will you be able to spot anyone from Montpelier running on Sunday 28th September?
Mr Walker also told us about an exciting challenge for children. There is a new 2km Junior Parkrun on Sunday mornings at Pitshanger park. It starts with a trial session at 9.30am this Sunday and then will occur every Sunday from 5th October.
Look at www.parkrun.org.uk/pitshanger-juniors/ for more details.
After a year of great effort and commitment, we finished the summer term with excellent results in Years 2 and 6. Equally, our children in the Reception classes achieved very well and have now settled into their Year 1 classes. This is an exciting and challenging year with schools adapting to a new curriculum, and, of course, free school lunches for all children under seven. Our teachers spent most of the spring and summer designing a new curriculum that builds further upon a learning structure that is already rigorous and successful, and we look forward to sharing in the children's experience of it over time.
