Yr 5 & Yr6 cycle training
Well done to the Year 5 pupils who recently completed their Level 2 ‘Bikeability’ Training which saw pupils developing their on-road bike skills out on Montpelier’s local streets. The pupils are now able to start and finish short journeys by road and deal with the traffic, turns, hazards and signs along the route. The fully-funded course is currently offered to children in Years 5 and 6 with Year 6’s course starting on Thursday 11th June. It is a fantastic scheme which supports pupil transition to High School as it builds confidence and offers independence.
For staff, parents and children alike this has been a very busy term. Our children have been completing end of year tests and assessments and we are preparing for new children to start in Reception in September. We are also thinking about our Year 6 children who are preparing to start the next stage of their education at a wide range of high schools. But for this weekend, we are looking forward to the annual PTA Summer Fete with excitement and anticipation.
